Appointments
Booking a long appointment
If you want an insurance medical, heavy vehicle medical, review of complex health problems, counselling for emotional difficulties, or a second opinion about someone else’s management you will need to make sure you book a longer appointment. This may mean a longer wait but your problem will get the attention it deserves. Please bring with you relevant letters and test results from other Doctors.
If more than one person from your family wishes to see the doctor at the same time, please ensure a separate appointment is made for each family member.
Antenatal appointments
Congratulations! You’re having a baby. KMC offers antenatal care between Dr Taylor, Dr Garner, Dr Rymill and Dr Mills. Our reception staff will book all your appointments ahead for the full 9 months. Starting with monthly appointments then fortnightly and weekly. You will receive an antenatal pack with all the information you need for your pregnancy. Including information about booking-in clinics at Naracoorte Health Service and antenatal classes.
Pre-Anaesthetic Check appointments
If you are having an operation in Naracoorte, you will be contacted by the Naracoorte Health Service if you require a pre anaesthetic check prior to surgery.
In line with our billing policies, there will be a fee payable on the day, of which Medicare card holders will receive a rebate
Q-Fever Vaccinations
We perform Q-Fever Vaccinations. We invite you to read this Q-Fever brochure for your information.
Follow up for Results and Recalls
When your Doctor orders pathology or other tests we recommend you book a follow up appointment prior to leaving KMC. Should your results need an urgent follow up, your Doctor or one of our nurses will contact you to book an appointment. Please make sure that we always have your most up to date contact details to ensure we can always contact you. You will not be contacted if your results are within normal limits. If you would like to get your results, please book an appointment with your GP.
Our recall system is used to remind our patients that you are due to make a visit for a follow up. Recalls are sent out automatically via text message through Auto Med. If you don’t wish to be added to the recall system please speak to your GP.
Home Visits
If you require a home visit, a receptionist will take the details and the Doctor will contact you to discuss a mutually convenient time. Higher fees do apply for home visits.
Telephone calls
The clinic nurse is available to give advice over the phone, however if for some reason they are unavailable or you want some advice after hours we encourage you to contact the Health Advice line on 1800 022 222 (this is a 24 hour service).
Your Doctor can be contacted by telephone during normal working hours. When your doctor is with a patient, messages will be taken or a return call invited or made. Your call will always be put through to a nurse if it’s an emergency.
Cancellations
We do appreciate at least 24 hours notice of cancellations so we can accommodate other patients who may require an appointment. This practice has a ‘Did Not Attend Appointment Policy’. A patient who fails to attend an appointment without notice will be charged a $40 fee.
Special Practice notes
Despite our best intentions, we sometime run late! This is because someone needed unexpected urgent attention. Be assured when it comes to your appointment the doctor will not rush to catch up and will give you your full allocated time. If you are on a time schedule you are more than welcome to contact the clinic and check if the doctor is running on time.
